HTC has unveiled two new devices, HTC Desire 10 Pro and Lifestyle. On the other hand, Google is all set to reveal its new Pixel flagship. Both companies are expected to release their devices in October. Here is a detailed comparison between HTC Desire 10 Pro and Google Pixel XL.

Processor and RAM

HTC Desire 10 is powered by Mediatek MT6755 Helio P10 chipset accompanied by 4GB RAM. Meanwhile, Google Pixel XL is expected to run on Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 chipset. Pixel XL will carry 4GB RAM, similar to HTC Desire 10 Pro.

Operating System

HTC will rollout its latest Desire 10 devices with pre-installed Android Marshmallow v6.0. However, the company could release the Nougat update in the future as it has already announced a launch update for its current devices.

As, Pixel XL is Google?s own handset it will obviously run the latest Android Nougat. Some reports even claim that the company could release a new update of Android Nougat along with its latest handset.


Desire 10 Pro includes 64GB onboard storage while Pixel XL could include up to 128GB internal storage. Moreover, the devices could vary in terms on microSD support. Desire 10 supports maximum 256GB microSD card while Pixel XL may support up to 1TB.

Both devices will feature 5.5-inch display. However, Pixel XL will beat Desire 10 Pro in terms of quality of display. HTC has fitted a Full HD display in Desire 10 while Google is expected to fit QHD display in its high-end smartphone.


HTC beats Google in terms as Desire 10 Pro includes a 20MP main camera and 13MP selfie shooter. On the other hand, Google will stick to 12MP primary and 8MP front facing camera. However, some reports suggest that Pixel XL could include dual-camera setup on its back.

Desire 10 Pro?s 3000 mAh battery will last for up to eight hours of internet use over Wi-Fi, 11 hours of HD video playback, or up to 53 hours of audio playback.

There is no solid information about the battery of the Pixel XL. Google should include a strong battery component to support QHD display.
