Many Xbox One users reached the point where they have maxed out the internal hard drive of their consoles. Xbox One self-manages its data with its operating system, but just this February, Microsoft added a system update for the console that will enable users to personally manage their Xbox One?s data storage.
But the thing is, the process of doing it is quite confusing for others. That?s why we have decided to make a step-by-step guide on how to delete and re-install owned content on Xbox One. Once you know which buttons to push, you will realize that it?s pretty easy.
Go to your Xbox One?s dashboard, and then on the right side of the screen, select the My Games & Apps tile.
Pick a game that you want to remove from your console?s hard drive. Once the game is highlighted, on your controller, push the Menu button. For those who have not let go of Xbox 360?s controller layout, that is the Start button.
A pop-up menu is going to appear. Just select the Manage Game option.
The next screen you are going to see will be divided into two parts. On the left side, you will see the tile of the game you have selected, and an Uninstall button which will include a text that indicates how much space that game uses. On the other side, however, you?re going to a see a list of the saved data for that particular game which will also include how much space it takes up.
If you wish to remove it, simply push the Uninstall button, and a progress indicator will pop-up. But be sure not to blink or you will miss it, because removing games in Xbox One is pretty quick. If you want, you can also delete the save data by selecting the button on the right side of your screen.
If ever you want to re-install a game that you have deleted, open up My Games & Apps?and just scroll all the way to right until you get past the installed game titles. You will soon reach a second menu listing that has all of your games that has been uninstalled. Choose a game that you would like to re-install and let your Xbox One do its thing.
NOTE: The ?re-install? option is not applicable for deleted save data. Once your save data has been removed, it?s gone forever.
