Aloy can explore a huge and sprawling open world in Horizon Zero Dawn and as expected from the game’s world, there are a ton of secrets to unearth. The game even has quite a few Easter Eggs that pays homages to a few popular titles. Here are all of the Easter Eggs the player and Aloy can discover in the game.

The Easter Eggs in Horizon Zero Dawn are mostly placed in collectibles and vantage points, all of which are marked on the map. If players know what the references are for, then the Easter Eggs are fairly discoverable.

For those unfamiliar with the game’s full development process, Decima is the game engine used to run the game. The engine is Guerrilla Games’ own in-house engine. In Horizon Zero Dawn, its logo is used by the Eclipse Cultists as their symbol. Moreover, the Old Ones also used the logo of Decima as the icon for the HADES sub function within GAIA.

Death Stranding

Speaking of Decima, this engine is also the one being used to power Kojima Productions’ new IP, Death Stranding. To pay homage to the game, Guerrilla Games inserted a few collectibles called the Stranded Items. The items themselves uses the Kojima Production logo as the in-game icon. The used logo also appeared in the trailers for Death Stranding.

Another one of Guerrilla Games’ franchise appears in Horizon Zero Dawn. Those who’ve played Killzone should recognize one of the Ancient Vessels as the Helghast helmet from Guerrilla Games’ shooter series. Aside from this, there are no other callouts to Killzone.

RIGS: Mechanized Combat League

RIGS: Mechanized Combat League is a VR game that Guerrilla Cambridge had a hand in developing, so it’s no surprise that there is an Easter Egg for this title. The logo of RIGS: Mechanized Combat League appears on the Denver Stadium in the Vantage Datapoint. It’s near Devil’s Grief.

Jazz Jackrabbit

Jazz and Jack from Jazz Jackrabbit by Epic MegaGames also appears on Horizon Zero Dawn. In an alcove on the western portion of the map, players can see rabbits that are identified by the Focus as Jazz and Jack. This is a clear reference to the title by Epic MegaGames.

There are all of the Easter Eggs discovered players have discovered. However, there might be more Easter Eggs lying about that players are yet to discover.
