“For Honor” is just a few hours away from its official release. As a result, “For Honor” Beta has been all over the social media feeds this weekend as different beta testers show off their sword skills. However, a Redditor named Lacfront noticed something different.

Apparently, Lacfront found what must be a “Mortal Kombat” reference hidden in one corner of a “For Honor” map. As can be seen in the image below, there appears to be two figures on the bridge in the distance. In addition, one of them is on fire.

‘Mortal Kombat’ Characters Found In ‘For Honor’ Beta

People might remember this specific scene from the background of the Pit Stage found in “Mortal Kombat 2.” The said burning figure is named Blaze which is a character from Mortal Kombat Deadly Alliance, Mortal Kombat: Unchained, and Mortal Kombat: Armageddon. In addition, Blaze has also made appearances and cameos in other Mortal Kombat games including Mortal Kombat X.

Meanwhile, the other character has been identified as Hornbuckle. Clearly, one of the “For Honor” developers is a NetherRealm fan. More importantly, “For Honor” do have similarities to “Mortal Kombat” games when it comes to scenery and brutality. Heck, we can even expect some Mortal Kombat-themed skins in the future.

For Honor: Everything You Need To Know

“For Honor” beta appears to have been a huge success for Ubisoft with the company revealing that almost 3M downloads have been recorded. That’s a large number of interest for a game that is bound to be released later this week. Furthermore, “For Honor” will be available on PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4 on February 14, Tuesday.

It’s currently unknown if the online Faction War progress will remain. As the beta concludes, Ubisoft releases a new trailer focusing on “For Honor” gameplay. The trailer is also accompanied by a long description saying:

Carve a path of destruction through the battlefield fighting for guts, glory, and survival in For Honor, a new melee action game developed by Ubisoft Montreal in collaboration with other Ubisoft studios”

“Enter the chaos of a raging war as a Knight, Viking, or Samurai, three of the greatest warrior legacies. For Honor is a fast-paced and immersive experience, mixing skill with visceral, and never-before-seen melee combat”

It was recently revealed that “For Honor” will require approximately 32GB of hard drive space. A launch trailer has been released recently following the end of a beta. Hence, if you’re not one of the 3M beta players who enjoyed the game, enjoy the action-packed trailer instead.
