“For Honor” is just a few hours away from its official release. As a result, “For Honor” Beta has been all over the social media feeds this weekend as different beta testers show off their sword skills. However, a Redditor named Lacfront noticed something different.
Apparently, Lacfront found what must be a “Mortal Kombat” reference hidden in one corner of a “For Honor” map. As can be seen in the image below, there appears to be two figures on the bridge in the distance. In addition, one of them is on fire.
‘Mortal Kombat’ Characters Found In ‘For Honor’ Beta
People might remember this specific scene from the background of the Pit Stage found in “Mortal Kombat 2.” The said burning figure is named Blaze which is a character from Mortal Kombat Deadly Alliance, Mortal Kombat: Unchained, and Mortal Kombat: Armageddon. In addition, Blaze has also made appearances and cameos in other Mortal Kombat games including Mortal Kombat X.
Meanwhile, the other character has been identified as Hornbuckle. Clearly, one of the “For Honor” developers is a NetherRealm fan. More importantly, “For Honor” do have similarities to “Mortal Kombat” games when it comes to scenery and brutality. Heck, we can even expect some Mortal Kombat-themed skins in the future.
