Emma Watson’s Beauty and the Beast doll is getting loads of comments from the netizens. The doll spotted by a photographer at a mall is creating hype on the internet.
William Herrington, a photographer and doll enthusiast from Colorado, found this Emma Watson doll at the Grand Junction mall. He posted the pic on Flickr.
The doll is inspired by Watson but its features do not match that of the actress. Thus, the netizens are making fun of the doll. Herrington has also said that this doll looks nothing like the talented, beautiful woman she’s supposed to portray.
“I knew that Disney Store’s live action dolls are never 100% accurate to the actors, but this one was atrocious! Her face was shiny and covered in freckles (that looked more like a skin disease) and her head looked like it was being ripped open and torn where the hair was rooted into the head. As for any resemblance to Emma…yeesh. There really isn’t any,” Herrington told buzzfeed.
The Emma Watson doll is also a hot topic on Twitter. The most amusing fact is that they are saying that the doll has more similarities with singer Justin Bieber. Netizens are comparing the Emma Watson doll to the Canadian singer.
“when you order an emma watson doll online but a justin bieber doll in a yellow dress & a wig arrives instead,” a Twitter user wrote. “They got Emma Watson’s Belle doll looking like Lord Farquaad with a mix of the Queen of Hearts & a sprinkle of Justin Bieber. Who did this?” another tweet reads.
Herrington is shocked to see the response of netizens on his Flickr post. “I absolutely did not expect it to go viral! I know Flickr isn’t the most popular form of social media, but I guess when the word gets out, it spreads like wildfire,” he said, according to MASHABLE.
A Twitter user has commented that the Emma Watson doll looks like Rudy Giuliani. For another user, the same doll reminds her of outgoing U.S. President Barack Obama.
Usually, celebrity dolls grab a lot of attention and appreciation. The Barbie dolls inspired by Janet Jackson, Brandy, Halle Berry and Nicki Minaj are the best examples of it. But the Emma Watson doll became a laughingstock.
