When news from The New Yorker broke out, a spokesman from Konami denied the claims and said they were unaware of a farewell ceremony held at Kojima Productions, CG Magazine reported. ?We?re not sure what kind of thing this was,? the Konami spokesman told Tokyo Sports in an interview.

The Konami spokesman said the development team has just finished working on Metal Gear Solid 5 The Phantom Pain and Kojima might have merely went into a ?long-term vacation? as he might experienced fatigue. ?Currently, Kojima and the development team are finished developing Metal Gear Solid V and are taking a long time off from work.?
