Ubisoft has announced that the fan-favorite turn-based strategy game is making a return.
Heroes of Might and Magic is finally making a return, the game had its humble beginnings 20 years ago that has become one of the favorite turn-based strategy games on the PC that sets a new standard in strategy games with deep fantasy world and rich story narrative and incredible strategic experience and with of RPG progression.
In Heroes of Might and Magic VII, players will be caught in the middle of the civil war that changed the ruling dynasty of the Holy Empire. The Empress was murdered, leaving the throne open for an heir with many of the rivals claiming to take the throne. Ivan the Duke calls for the council of six trusted advisors to help search of a possible solution to end the war.
Heroes of Might and Magic VII will be developed by Limbic Entertainment, who are also composed of Might and Magic fans and promises that the game will be respected and to have the traditional feature and at the same time, adding new features that are suggested by the Might and Magic community. It will feature 6 factions just in the predecessors, each offering different units. It also feature a 60-hour long campaign as well as Skirmish missions that includes dozens of maps, there is also the Duel mode where you can fight different armies with the need of exploration.
The game was originally created by Jon Van Caneghem at New World Computing in 1995 and was based on the lore in the Might and Magic RPG. New World Computing was then sold to 3DO where the Heroes of Might and Magic series continued until the company filed for bankruptcy in 2003 and the license was purchased by Ubisoft in 2004 and continue the franchise.
Heroes of Might and Magic VII is now available for the PC via Steam or UPlay
