After flying the Millennium Falcon one last time, Harrison Ford puts on his fedora once again for a fifth instalment of ?Indiana Jones.? The film is slated to release on July 19, 2019 and Jones will be 76 by that time. Twitter was flooded with funny titles playing around the aging actor with the hashtag #FakeIndy5Titles. The new Indiana Jones instalment will come out 11 years after the fourth one, The Temple of the Crystal Skull, which was not well-received.
Disney has announced the new movie will have Steven Spielberg taking helm again with Harrison Ford returning as the bold archaeologist. There were previous rumors that younger actors will be replacing Ford such as Chris Pratt, Shia LaBeouf and Bradley Cooper.
As quoted by The Guardian, Disney chair Alan Hord stated: ?Indiana Jones is one of the greatest heroes in cinematic history, and we can?t wait to bring him back to the screen in 2019. It?s rare to have such a perfect combination of director, producers, actor and role, and we couldn?t be more excited to embark on this adventure with Harrison and Steven.?
Ford recently enjoyed the success of the new Star Wars: The Force Awakens which was released late last year where he played his original Star Wars role as the bounty hunter Han Solo. He returned to the top list of highes-grossing actors last year with the epic sci-fi film?s success, as reported by The Guardian. While next year, Ford will be seen in the 1982 Blade Runner sequel.
Also returning to the franchise are producers George Lucas and Kathleen Kennedy, who originally developed Jones? character.
