Released in 2009 by the now defunct Ensemble Studios, Halo Wars was a surprising success as both a console RTS and extension of the Halo brand. Right now, there?s no way to purchase the Halo Wars Definitive Edition as a standalone release. Anyone looking to relive all the great RTS action of the original will have to pony up $80 for the Halo Wars 2 Ultimate Edition bundle. Granted, there is a whole lot of content included. The $80 price tag also gives you complete access to the Halo Wars 2 season pass. Still, it is a little disappointing that fans who only want to play the original have no way to buy it separately.
