Guardians Of The Galaxy 2 News: James Gunn Bans Aliens In Movie Because Name Means Intimate Female Part?

By on

With ?Guardians of the Galaxy 2? slowly moving along, director James Gunn gets ready for pre-production of the sequel. Gunn and some crews are expected to travel to Atlanta to begin production of ?Guardians of the Galaxy 2.? The director shares in social media that actual filming of the sequel will not yet proceed until February but instead, they are going to build ?the giant sets? forming in the backdrop of the movie, according to Screenrant.

The crew is going to spend a few months to construct what should be the most astonishing sets that are out of this world. According to Screenrant, ?Atlanta has become the go-to-place for shooting Marvel movies lately.? ?Ant-Man? and ?Captain America: Civil War? previously filmed there, supposedly with ?Thor 3? also filming there, after finishing Guardians. With world-class facilities at the new Pinewood Studios Atlanta, it?s no surprise that they always go back.

?Sneepers? banned

In other news, James Gunn explains on social media how he runs alien characters from comics to movies and why a number of those characters aren?t allowed on the big screen. ?While writing Guardians scripts, I like to use the names of characters from the comics as much as possible ? it makes watching the movie more fun for longtime Marvel fans (one of whom is me),? he wrote on Facebook according to Comicbook.

?Characters like Kraglin, The Broker, Bereet, and Garthan Saal all originally appeared in the comics, albeit sometimes in very different incarnations. Every name I use I have to run through the Marvel legal department. Lately, in the service of building out the Marvel cosmic side of the universe, I?ve been trying to clear names of alien species we see in the background,? he shared.

?It?s always a bummer when I can?t use a name, usually because Fox or Sony or Hasbro or whomever owns the rights. But today I received a brand new reason for being advised against calling one of the alien species ?Sneepers.??

?Sneeper is a world for clitoris for Icelandic.?

What?s more interesting is that Icelandic people don?t agree with it. According to Comicbook, some of the fans who shared their story shared that the word ?Sneeper? doesn?t really exist in Iceland and that they doubt anyone is over going to be offended by it.

?Guardians of the Galaxy 2? is going to hit the big screens on May 5, 2017.
