Guardians of the Galaxy 2 was made possible after the roaring $774 million worldwide earnings of its predecessor. The Guardians of The Galaxy was heavily hinted to play an integral role for Avengers: Infinity War as they join up with the already jam-packed Marvel superheroes to fight a common opponent.
A new rumor, however, has sprung-up saying Guardians of The Galaxy will not be pairing together with Iron Man, Captain America, and other heroes.
According to Moviepilot, Jeremy Renner (Hawkeye) said he belives?the intergalactic heroes will only stick to their own universe:
?Look, you?re going to be like eighty by the time that comes out? and I?m certainly not going to be Hawkeye. I?m not going to be a dead guy??
Renner may not be the best person to believe in what happens in the MCU as he doesn?t play a huge part in planning the movies. However, Renner?s spill might actually be true as according to SlashFilm, GOTG Director James Gunn previously said that the universe of Avengers and GOTG are separate:
?We really are separate from the Avengers, and I don?t think people should assume too many things about the Guardians play in all this. We have our own galaxy to take care of. We have our own galaxy to save. Earth is the Avenger?s province. Thinking that everything is going to come together in a perfect way is not necessarily the way it?s going to happen.?
Guardians of the Galaxy 2 News: Infinity War crossover?
Having no GOTG crossover with The Avengers will be ultimately disappointing for the fans as Thanos was shown in both the cosmic universe of the Guardians as well as in the universe of Earth?s mightiest heroes.
The Infinity Stones were also both shown in the Marvel Movies. Here are all the Infinity Stones shown so far according to Cinemablend:
- The Tesseract (Thor, Captain America: The First Avenger, and The Avengers)
- Power Orb (Guardians of the Galaxy)
- Aether (Thor: The Dark World)
Thanos needs to acquire all the six Infinity Stones and insert them in his Infinity Guantlet so he could net limitless power, Cinemablend reported. We have already seen Thanos collect the Infinity Guantlet in the post credit scenes of Avengers: Age of Ultron.
As Thanos already acquired the Infinity Guantlet, we may be seeing Thanos a lot in Marvel Phase 3 to set-up the Infinity War story. Thanos is already rumoured to be making an appearance in Thor: Ragnarok to steal an Infinity Stone.
Vin Diesel Returns To Voice Groot in Guardians of The Galaxy 2
GOTG2 director James Gunn has already spilled the details on what we can expect for the sequel to his film. Just recently, Gunn seems to have offered more details.
This may mean that we can expect more expressions of the line ?I am Groot? or he may also pull-off an unexpected line like ?We are Groot? like in the first film.
Guardians of The Galaxy Volume 2 will hit theaters on May 5, 2017.
Avengers: Infinity War- Part 1?will hit the big screen on May 4, 2018.
