Will these characters make an appearance in Guardians of the Galaxy 2? Let’s find out
Guardians of the Galaxy is Marvel?s third highest grossing movie, next to The Avengers and Iron Man 3, as said in the report by IGN.
Last year, Ocobter 2014, Marvel had unveiled their movies for their Phase 3 of the MCU?and?included in that list is the sequel for the Guardians of the Galaxy. However, some fans were wondering if they will ever get to see the old characters in the sequel. Luckily, James Gunn answers a few of these questions in his most recent Q&A on his Facebook.
News about Ronan the Accuser, Nebula and Groot for the Guardians of the Galaxy 2
According to the report made by screenrant, it looks like we will get to see more of Yondu and his band of bandits, the Ravagers in Guardians of the Galaxy 2. You got to admit though, his whistle-controlled arrow is one of the coolest weapons ever. The way he just stood there and wiped out all of Ronan?s foot soldiers is awesome as hell!
Speaking of Ronan the Accuser, it was also said on that report that, Lee Pace (Ronan) won?t be making an appearance in the sequel. However, James Gunn, the director of Guardians of the Galaxy and Guardians of the Galaxy 2 said on his Q&A on his Facebook ?Who knows. But not in 2, no.?
As for Nebula, one of Thanos? adopted daughters and the sister of Gamora, Gunn said on his Q&A ?Sometimes people are confused what happens to Nebula. She looks down for something to fall on, allows herself to fall on a Ravager craft, and takes out the Goth Ravager inside and flies away, leaving everyone to deal with this shit themselves, because she’s stopped caring. She will be back.?
As for the fan-favorite GOTG character Groot on the other hand, James Gunn said that ?Well, who says baby Groot is Groot and not Groot?s son?? Well, that is certainly something. As long as the personality of the new Groot is the same as the old one, the always smiling and friendly giant, then I guess it is cool. Although, you can?t change the fact that it is kind of surprising to see what this ?new Groot? is going to be like.
Guardians of the Galaxy 2 is part of the Phase 3 of Marvel Cinematic Universe and will be shown in cinemas on May 5, 2017.
