Marvel went on a chase to look for an Asian actress for a mystery part in Guardians of the Galaxy 2 and they have apparently found what they were looking for. French actress Pom Klementieff will star as one of the new key roles in Marvel?s Guardians of the Galaxy 2, according to the Hollywood Reporter.
Key mystery role nabbed by unknown artist
Pom Klementieff caught a big break as her character will have a major part in the movie. Klementieff is more known for Spike Lee?s remake of the hit Japanese thriller Oldboy in which she took on a role that ?demanded physicality and martial arts,? according to the Hollywood Reporter. James Gunn will also return for the sequel to direct and write the next amazing adventures of the guardians of the galaxy along with Kevin Fiege as producer.
If you look at the roster of characters from the comic book series of Guardians of the Galaxy, some of the few characters that stick out and might have an appearance on the film are Moondragon and Mantis. Moondragon is a daughter of Drax and a telepathic with a connection with one of the Inifinity Gems so it would be a cool addition to the movie lineup, shared by Comic Vine.
On the other hand, Mantis is a universe travelling woman of Vietnamese descent who is a member of the Guardians of the Galaxy that has a connection with the Avengers, Silver Surfer, and quite possibly Thanos. She eventually became a counselor and therapist for the team, posted by Comic Vine. Although there is still no announcement on what character the newfound actress will be playing, we can be sure that Klementieff will be an amazing addition to the cast.
Guardians of the Galaxy 2 will hit theaters on May 5, 2017, according to Variety, with returning casts such as Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Bradley Cooper and Vin Diesel.
