Fox renews Gotham for the season 3 run! Fans of the Batman spinoff can now rejoice over this good news. It is also revealed that more actors will be added to the cast.
Deadline reports that Fox network has ordered a 3rd season for Gotham. This Batman origin TV series gets an early renewal among other shows that are aired on 21st Century Fox?s Broadcasting Network. Contrary to its first season run, the report says that Gotham Season 2 now has a total average viewer of 9 million. Most of its audience are from the male demographic. In one of his interviews, Fox?s Entertainment president David Madden praised the showrunners- Bruno Heller, Danny Cannon and John Stephens. According to him, ?It takes a very special team to tell the tales of Gotham. For the past two seasons, Bruno, Danny and John have masterfully honored the mythology of Gotham and brought it to life with depth, emotion and memorable high drama?
According to /Film, ?Gotham season 3 will consist of 22 episodes to begin airing this fall.? This Batman spinoff is Fox?s TV series that plays head to head with other superhero shows from CBS and The CW.
As far as the new cast is concerned, Variety says that before season 2 ends, Paul Reubens will be joining Gotham as a guest star. In fact, he will first arrive on March 21 playing the role of Elijah Van Dahl. In case you don?t know Dahl, he is the biological dad of Oswald Chesterfield Cobblepot aka Penguin. The arrival of Penguin?s father will allow viewers to see the other side of Oswald, which TV series fans have not known.
