The expectations surrounding the upcoming smartphones, earmarked for later this year, are sky-high precisely because these devices will run Android Nougat out of the box. Traditionally, the Nexus variants are the first ones to run the latest software. But, this year, instead of the Google Nexus 2016, the LG V20 will be the first to debut with Nougat onboard.

This news has been confirmed by the search engine giant itself via an update to its web page. The official page says ?The New LG V20: The first new smartphone that comes with Android 7.0 Nougat, right out of the box. Coming soon.?

To top it off, the search giant has also added a rough render of the highly-anticipated LG V20 smartphone showing multiple layers of the smartphone. However, the highlight is on the UI of the device showing the Android Nougat effects.

While we do not know the exact launch information specific to the Nexus 2016 handsets, we do know that the?LG V20 release date is set for September 6. LG has scheduled a special event in San Francisco to introduce the device. This means Google?s Nexus variants, codenamed HTC Sailfish and HTC Marlin, will not be unveiled prior to the LG V10 successor?s big day.

Following the launch, the pre-orders will reportedly commence on September 14 and will hit the store shelves on September 23. We are expecting the V20 to give tough competition to the recently released power-house?Samsung Galaxy Note 7.

Speaking of LG V20 specifications, Qualcomm?s Snapdragon 820 processor will?reportedly power the handset. Reports also say a 5.5-inch display and Quad HD resolution can be expected from this LG device.

The specialty of the ?LG V series? is the one-of-a-kind secondary ticker display onboard, which shows notifications and alerts. This well-received feature will be part of the upcoming handset as well. To top it off, this time around, LG has reportedly opted to house a dual rear-facing camera unit.

Speaking of price, the LG V20 will apparently set the buyers back by a whopping $650, sans contract. In any case, LG fans gearing up to pre-order this handset will be offered freebies.
