The Google Nexus smartphones may have a new name this year but that has not changed how excited Nexus fans are about the upcoming devices. It has been revealed that the Nexus smartphones will now be called the Google Pixel. The larger and high-end version of the two Nexus smartphones, on the other hand, will be called the Google Pixel XL.
Fans who are looking forward to the Google Pixel XL may not have to wait much longer now. This is because the Pixel XL is expected to become available in the next few weeks.
According to Wired UK, Google is set to unveil the upcoming Nexus/Pixel smartphones on October 4. The same report mentions that the event is going to be held in San Francisco at 9:00 a.m. PST that can be streamed live on YouTube. That means that in less than two weeks consumers can finally see just what the Google Nexus project has been up to.
There has been a lot of excitement surrounding the Google Pixel smartphones. Surely, it is for a good reason. There have been rumors saying that it could be the first smartphone to run on Qualcomm?s latest Snapdragon 821 processor. The recent rumor though may have US tech junkies switching over to a new carrier. This is because it has been revealed that the Pixel and Pixel XL could potentially be Verizon exclusives.
