The Google Nexus 2016 devices are among this year?s most anticipated releases. Now, an update reported that the unveiling of the Huawei Nexus 7 tablet will immediately follow the launch of HTC smartphones.
Gadget 360 pointed out that Google has tapped HTC to build two gadgets. These include a 5.5-inch phablet and a regular 5-inch handset, which have been codenamed Marlin and Sailfish. The two are intended to replace the 2015 Nexus phones and will directly compete with Apple?s flagship iPhones.
“Google is positioning these devices as premium smartphones with excellent overall experience, in an attempt to take the iPhone head-on,” the report claimed.
Insider leaks have revealed that Google Nexus 2016 devices will flaunt premium build and design. Its interiors will also boast of high end quality, with a rumored Snapdragon 820 chip and 4GB of RAM. There will be two options for internal storage – basic 32GB and premium 128GB.
However, the detailed report also highlighted that Google’s forthcoming smartphones will unbox minus the Nexus brand. It will reportedly only sport Google?s ?G? logo.
Because of this, speculations rose that the leaked specifications are for the Huawei Nexus 7 tablet.
The gadget is supposedly an upgrade of the well-reviewed Nexus 6P. Even Huawei reps themselves have confirmed that they will release another Nexus device this year.
This means that Android patrons will look forward to not just the launch of Marlin and Sailfish, but the Google Nexus 7 as well.
Rumors of Google Nexus 7?s approaching release were also fueled by reports that Google has halted the sales of Nexus 9. This was allegedly done so that the company can focus on production and promotion of their 2016 offerings.
In related news, it has been announced that Android Nougat will be the official OS of these upcoming devices. Its fifth and final preview was even unveiled to developers recently. There have been reports that the much talked-about OS will be launched this August.
