If the recent discounts on the Nexus 5X though are any indication, the Google Nexus 2016 release may be coming sooner than later.

The Google Nexus 5X, which is manufactured by LG, is certainly a very solid and reliable mid-range smartphone. Still, many people are looking forward to this year?s Nexus smartphones. Well, it appears that retailers are also doing the same as there have been reports that the Nexus 5X are receiving huge discounts right now.

TechnoBuffalo reports that the Nexus 5X is available on eBay for just $239.99 unlocked. This is surely an amazing deal which would give consumers an excellent unlocked phone which can already try out the Android 7.0 Nougat beta version.

The deal though can be a lot more than retailers trying to sell a lot of the Nexus 5X smartphones. It is quite possible that they are trying to exhaust their inventory of the Nexus 5X in order to make way for the Google Nexus 2016 smartphones.

The upcoming Nexus phones, which are reportedly going to be made by HTC, are codenamed Sailfish and Marlin. Aside from the names there is not much details yet as to when the upcoming smartphones will be launching.

There have been more and more leaks about the Nexus Marlin and Sailfish as of late which could mean that an actual launch may be just on the horizon. Take this together with the recent discounts on the Nexus 5X which only makes an impending launch all the more plausible.

Still, Nexus fans would just have to wait for an official announcement from Google as to when this year?s smartphones are going to be released. If you cannot wait though and you are in need of a solid Android smartphone that can run Android 7.0 Nougat right now, picking up the unlocked Nexus 5X for $239.99 is certainly a deal that you should take advantage of.
