Google Nexus 2016?s release could be happening soon as a major discount for its predecessor, Nexus 6P, has been spotted in Best Buy.
The site has slashed $181 off the regular price as it offers a refurbished Nexus 6P for only $319. The listing is reportedly only for Nexus 6P?s 32GB aluminum model.
Aside from Best Buy?s Nexus 6P discount, another predecessor?s recent sale has fueled rumors of the approaching Google Nexus 2016 release. Just the other day, prominent tech site Newegg offered one of the lowest discounts for an unlocked 32GB version of the Nexus 5X for just $235.
These two discounts for this week alone came after E-Bay offered the Nexus 5X at the absolute cheapest price that it has gone for. Techies flocked the popular online selling site last week as the 32GB variant of the Google Nexus 5X at an all-time lowest discount at just $229.99 per handset.
This slashed off $169.01 from the original price of $399, garnering seller ?Little Star Electronics? with a 96.1 percent positive rating on eBay.
The huge discounts on Nexus 6P and 5X could definitely mean that the company is making way for the launch of the highly anticipated Google Nexus 2016 smartphones: the HTC Nexus Marlin and HTC Nexus Sailfish.
A recently released teaser showed rumored specs of the two variants. Both have 12 MP Primary cameras and 8MP front cameras. Sailfish will be smaller by half an inch compared to Marlin?s 5.5-inch 2K AMOLED display.
Marlin will be armed with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 SOC while its sister device will be powered with a 64bit 2.0GHz Quad core processor. Both will have 4GB of RAM, but Marlin will have an additional 128GB internal memory option on top of the standard 32GB.
HTC Nexus Marlin?s 3,450 battery will also be bigger than Sailfish?s 2,770 mAh battery.
Both handsets and will run on Android 7.0 Nougat OS, Google?s recently unveiled operating system that will be launched later this year.
There is still no exact release date for Google Nexus 2016, but if the huge online promos are anything to go by, then the launch of HTC Marlin and Sailfish could very well be happening really soon.
