The Google Nexus 2016 smartphones have been the subject of many rumors over the past couple of months. Android fans have been waiting excitedly for the new Nexus devices to release this year. The Nexus 6P and 5X are excellent smartphones but surely tech junkies are now already excited about the Google Nexus 2016 release date.
Google has been very tight-lipped about the release of the 2016 Nexus smartphones. Luckily, there have been many insiders who have provided consumers with leaks and news about the upcoming phones. While no confirmed release date has been revealed for the Nexus 2016 phones, the recent leaks about the device may be an indication that it is going to come sooner rather than later.
BGR has provided some very exciting leaks about the design of the 2016 Nexus smartphones, which are said to be codenamed Marlin and Sailfish. The report mentions that the two phones will be composed of a mixture of plastic and metal. According to the report, the Marlin will feature more of the metal design while the Sailfish will be predominantly composed of plastic material.
This is certainly a very logical move on the part of Google as the Marlin is expected to be the main flagship of the Google Nexus project. Metal has always been associated with class, quality and sophistication when it comes to smartphones so going with an all metal phone will be an excellent choice. Having a metal phone could come with some heating issues but surely Google will have a fix ready for such a problem.
It has been previously revealed that HTC will be the manufacturer tasked to make the Marlin and Sailfish. Huawei was also reportedly in the mix but so far it is the former which is expected to make the upcoming Nexus smartphones. There is no official update yet as to what the HTC Nexus 2016 phones will look like. If previous Nexus phones though are any indication, it can be expected that this year?s smartphones will have a clean and crisp design.
