Google Nexus 2016 phones are among this year?s highly anticipated devices. Techies are expected to be even more excited now as a leaked actual photo has revealed the alleged specs of one of its variants, HTC Marlin.

A lot of image renders have gone viral, all of them claiming to show the upcoming smartphone?s different features. With no official pictures from its creators though everyone has been on the lookout on how a Google Nexus 2016 phone would actually look like.

All that changed over the weekend when an alleged leaked photo of the HTC Nexus Marlin began circulating the internet. The reveal was reported by TechDroider, but the image was cropped so tightly that only the screen can be seen.

Even if the Google Nexus 2016 specs could not be seen in the picture, it was able to show that HTC Marlin will be running on Android Nougat.

Prior to the leak, there was recently a teaser that showed the rumored specs of HTC Nexus Marlin and HTC Sailfish. Both have 12 MP Primary cameras and 8MP front cameras. The Sailfish variant will be smaller by half an inch compared to Marlin?s 5.5-inch 2K AMOLED display.

Marlin will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 SOC, while its sister device will be armed with a 64bit 2.0GHz Quad core processor. Both will have 4GB of RAM, but Marlin?s standard 32GB will have an additional 128GB internal memory option.

HTC Nexus Marlin will also have a 3,450 mAh battery, which is bigger compared to Sailfish?s 2,770 mAh battery.

The rumor mill has also been abuzz regarding the release date of the Google Nexus 2016. Many speculate the launch to happen soon since its predecessor have constantly been placed on sale in different tech and commerce sites online.
