Godzilla Resurgence (Shin Godzilla) is said to be doing really well at the box office, earning $20.51 million in Japan alone and beating the record earnings of the previous Godzilla Movie: Final Wars. Now on its second week of screening, Godzilla Resurgence is currently ranked #1, surpassing One Piece Film: Gold at #3 and Pokemon The Movie XY & Z: Volcanion to Karakuri no Magearna, which is now down to #7.

The Japanese seem to always be ahead of everyone, coming up with the most creative and craziest ways to promote a movie. Having said this, the official website of the movie announced that on August 15, 2016, there will be a special shouting-is-allowed screening at the Shinjuku Wald 9 Cinema. Viewers are allowed to shout, come in cosplay and bring light sticks. How cool is this? AnimeNewsNetwork reported that the tickets were on sale midnight of August 8 and were sold out in a matter of minutes.

Of course, this type of screening is nothing new in Japan. A special screening was also done for Mad Max movie, which allowed screaming and even drumming!

In Singapore, film distributer Encore Films released an English subtitled trailer in line with the movie?s premiere on August 25, 2016. See it here.

Godzilla Resurgence is not a remake or a revival, Executive Producer Akihiro Yamauchi says that, given the Japanese title Shin translates to New Godzilla or God Godzilla, it will be the scariest Godzilla in history. Directed by Evangelion creator, Hideaki Anno and live-action Attack on Titan director, Shinji Higuchi, the cast includes Satomi Ishihara, Hiroki Hasegawa, and Yuataka Takenouchi.

Here is the official movie synopsis: ?A cause unknown, an accident has occurred in the tunnels of the Tokyo Bay Aqua Line, causing an emergency cabinet meeting to convene. Immediately afterwards, a huge creature appears, destroying town after town with its landing reaching the capital. The mysterious giant organism is named, Godzilla?
