Gionee launches its powerful Marathon M5 smart-phone with a four-day long battery life that no smart-phone can match.
The headline feature of the Gionee Marathon M5 is its massive 6020mAh battery which is actually a dual-setup of two 3010mAh batteries. The company claimed the phone can run for four days without charging living up to its name of Marathon.?The powerful battery offers up to 62 hours of talk time on 2G and 28 hours on 3G network according to Tech2FirstPost.?The phone also allows for standby time of up to 32 hours even with 5 percent battery charge left when activated in Extreme Mode.?The device supports reverse charging as well that allows the owner to use it as a power bank to charge other devices.
Gionee Marathon M5 has a 5.5 inch HD AMOLED display supporting 720 x 1280 resolution along with Gorilla Glass 3 protection. GSMArena?reports Marathon M5 is powered by a quad core MediaTek MT6735 SoC processor with speed up to 1.5GHz backed by 3GB of RAM. The smart-phone features a 13MP rear camera with LED flash and a 5MP front facing camera. The storage capacity of the device is 32GB along with expansion up to 128GB through external MicroSD card slot. It supports connectivity through 4G, GPRS, EDGE, GPS, AGPS, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.0 and includes usual sensors as proximity, G-sensor, compass, motion and light.
The phone runs Gionee?s proprietary Amigo 3.1 operating system which is based on Android 5.1 Lollipop. The phone weighing 214gms and measuring 152 x76 x 8.55mm comes in variety of color options that include white, black and gold
Marathon M5 debuted last year in June in China but the new phone differs in size of RAM and internal storage capacity which has been upgraded from 2GB/16GB to 3GB/32GB. It was launched in India on 24 November and is exclusively avilable on Flipkart, India’s online shopping website.
The phone is priced at INR17000 that is approx $270 and is expected to hit the international markets soon.
