On Saturday, TV Tokyo officially announced the premiere of the Gintama anime season 8 on January 8, 2017. TV networks, on the other hand, will officially broadcast the series in various TV Tokyo partners like TV Hokkaido, ?TV Setouchi, ?TV Aichi and TVQ Kyushu Broadcasting on January 9 at 1:35 a.m. The new season of ?Gintama? will have another premiere on TV Osaka on January 10 at 1:05 a.m.

If you noticed, the new season of ?Gintama? will have a later time slot as opposed to its previous time slot on TV Tokyo, which was at 6:00 p.m.?

The synopsis of the ?Gintama? anime series as featured on the MyAnimeList says:

?The Amanto, aliens from outer space, have invaded Earth and taken over feudal Japan. As a result, a prohibition on swords has been established, and the samurai of Japan are treated with disregard as a consequence.

However one man, Gintoki Sakata, still possesses the heart of the samurai, although from his love of sweets and work as a yorozuya, one might not expect it. Accompanying him in his jack-of-all-trades line of work are Shinpachi Shimura, a boy with glasses and a strong heart, Kagura with her umbrella and seemingly bottomless stomach, as well as Sadaharu, their oversized pet dog. Of course, these odd jobs are not always simple, as they frequently have run-ins with the police, ragtag rebels, and assassins, oftentimes leading to humorous but unfortunate consequences.?

Creator Hideaki Sorachi began the manga series in 2004; holding several top spots in different Japanese anime manga list. The ?Gintama? manga reached its final story arc in July with Viz Media publishing the first 23 volumes in English. Last November, Shueisha published the 66th volume of the manga series in Japan. Speculations say that the new Gintama anime season 8 will be based on this final manga arc.

The manga also inspired two anime films, wherein of them is the Gekij?ban Gintama Kanketsu-hen: Yorozuya yo Eien Nare film in 2013. For more news and update about the ?Gintama? manga and anime series, make sure to come back and read us here on TheBitBag.
