When Netflix released a teaser photo of Pop-Tarts and an apple in the Gilmore Girls Instagram account yesterday, fans immediately flipped with pregnancy theories.
The photo had artfully arranged Pop-Tarts on a plate with a red apple right smack in the middle.
The caption said: ?Pop-Tart appetisers to hold us over ?till the pizza comes. And one apple.?
It can mean anything or nothing to some people, but true fans know that an apple raises an emergency flag in the Gilmore household.
To recall, while at the hospital after Sookie St. James (Melissa McCarthy) was checked in to deliver her baby, Lorelei had purchased an apple from the vending machine. Puzzled at her craving for a healthy fruit, she ambushed a doctor and asked about when one can know for certain that one is pregnant?that is, after the action has been done. She went on to explain?in her Lorelei talk-fast signature style?that the last time she wanted to eat something healthy was when she was pregnant with Rory.
?Okay, see, am eating an apple,? Lorelie persisted to query a doctor passing by, ?Now normally, it?s not a sign of anything except hunger, except I don?t eat much fruit. I know I should, but I don?t have a hankering for it. Had it when I was pregnant with my first kid, though. Kept craving those apples and this morning, boy, was I craving an apple.?
Ergo, a Gilmore craving apples is an expecting Gilmore. Presumably, Lorelei will be about 48 when the reboot returns, so could it be Rory?s (Alexis Bledel) turn?
Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life will premier on November 25 on Netflix.
