Netflix recently dropped a hint that viewers might be seeing Gilmore Girls season 8 some time soon. Fans got the hint from the network?s recent Tweet featuring the possible daddies of Rory?s baby. If an 8th season is really to take place, this is indeed good news for the fans before 2016 ends.
On Wednesday evening, Netflix tweeted something about the TV series that certainly pumped up the fans. ?Where?s an eighth grade science fair when you need one? #GilmoreGirls,? reads the Twitter post. The tweet also featured the possible dad of Rory?s child.
It can be recalled that at the end of Gilmore Girls: A Year In The Life, Rory told her mother, Lorelei, that she is pregnant. However, it was not disclosed as to who was the father of the baby.
There are three possible dads according to reports. One is her ex-boyfriend Logan, who she has an open relationship. The other one is Paul, who is her underwhelming boyfriend. And lastly, there is a man dressed in a Wookie costume whom she had a one-night stand with.
This teaser of Gilmore Girls season 8 came after executive producer Amy Sherman-Palladino mentioned that she is open to doing more episodes of the TV series. However, the EP as well clarified that she does not know if it will ever happen.
?We pitched this as close-ended. Netflix and Warner Bros., we all went into this sort of saying this was it. So there really haven?t been any more discussions about: Is there going to be anything else? I don?t know,? she told The Hollywood Reporter.
After the recent tweet of Netflix, fans are now assuming that the executive producers and the network have decided to create another season for the show. The eighth season is expected to focus on Rory finding the father of her baby.
