There are no?delays for the Gears of War 4 release date. The game has finally gone gold, so October 11 is the final date. Fans of the Xbox-exclusive shooter only have a month before getting the latest installment of the popular series. Basically, this is great news for all involved, especially Microsoft.
While a game coming out on time might not sound like a big deal, it sadly is. Games like The Last Guardian and Final Fantasy 15 have been delayed recently. Even Uncharted 4 was delayed numerous times before it came out earlier this year. So cheers to the Gears of War team for a job well done.
A New Era?
The final Gears of War 4 release date was confirmed by Microsoft. Interestingly enough, the company stated that this would be a new era for the series. Part of this is the new protagonist JD Fenix, who is the son of Marcus Fenix. Another reason is the new Xbox Play Anywhere program.
For those unaware, certain Xbox One games will have cross-play functionality with a Windows 10 PC. Gears of War 4 is one of them. This is pretty good news for owners of both systems, considering the reputation the series has.
New Fan Friendly?
Despite being a sequel, it seems like Gears of War 4 will also appeal to newer fans. This might be why the game has a new protagonist. This installment will also be more grounded and brutal, which is what made fans love the first game. Admittedly, saying an alien shooter is grounded sounds silly, but the first title made it work.
Finally, we have the game’s launch trailer. While it’s mostly cutscene-driven, it is well-edited. The video even shows Marcus Fenix in action. He’s clearly aged since the original trilogy, which is a nice touch. The trailer also makes the game feel like a good starting point, since it takes place years after the first three games.
The final Gears of War 4 release date is October 11. It will be available on Xbox One and Windows 10 PCs only. The game will support 4K graphics and also have a ton of multiplayer options. Will it be the best Gears of War game? We will see.
