Game Of Thrones Season 7 Update: Big Things To Happen As Season 8 Will Be Last Of The Series?

By on

The eighth season of Game of Thrones will be the last of the HBO? wildly popular television series with the few remaining families vying for control of the Iron Throne. Incoming HBO programming president Casey Bloys confirmed that the series will conclude in Season 8.

?Yes, I think [the showrunners, DB Weiss and David Benioff] have a very specific plan about the number of seasons they want to do,? Mr Bloys said. ?If I could get them to do more, I would take 10 more seasons. But we take their lead on what they think they can do the best version of the show.?

The seventh season – made up of seven episodes instead of the usual 10 – is expected in summer next year, while the final season will be in 2018.

With the GoT heading for epic showdown between Daenerys and Queen Cersei in the Season 6 Finale, it seems the next season 7 will involve the elimination of one of the greatest threats to Danys. So Cersei ?Lannister?s days are certainly numbered and rumor even hint that her brother turned lover Jamie is going to be the one to end her reign. Apparently the sole reason he had betrayed Mad King was because of his cruelty and now that his sister too has turned that way he feels let down.

Also, Cersei?s removal will lead to the next stage of the series which is the battle between Fire and Ice meaning the epic showdown with White Walkers and Dany?s Dragons.

The season 7 may also prove to be the final coming of Winter in Westeros. In the season finale, Sansa tells Jon Snow that Winter is finally here and that their father was right. Now that the conclusion is hinted in eighth season, White Walkers are certainly coming to Westeros. For that they will have to cross the Wall and it seems one way or another the Wall is coming down. The Night Watch is going down as well and so is Jon friend ?Edd Tollett who was last seen as the Lord Commander of The Wall.

Additionally the character of Euron Greyjoy is expected to be playing the role of evil sorceress who might bring down the Wall. After his apparent introduction last season, the finale missed to show him when Yara and Theon won Dany?s heart and instead left him behind. In book series, he was apparently trying to raid a city where Jon?s other friend Samwell Tarly has just arrived. A popular theory doing the rounds is Sam possesses a powerful horn capable of bringing the Wall down. With Euron there in Oldtown he likely is there for a reason and that is too seize the horn and bring the horde of White Walkers into the land of Westeros.

Other storylines are too expected to conclude and fans are more than enough delighted for Jon and Dany to meet, now that Jon?s true parentage has been revealed. Also the legend of Azhor Ahai might finally be revealed as to who the promised warrior is.

Season 7 of Game of Thrones is expected to air sometime in Spring 2017.
