‘Game Of Thrones? Season 6 Hangover? ?Preacher?, ?Battlestar Galactica? And Other Shows To Watch While Waiting For HBO Hit Series’ Season 7

Are you still on a high from the recent finale of ?Game of Thrones? season 6? Luckily for TV buffs, shows like ?Preacher? and ?Battlestar Galactica? will surely keep them preoccupied while waiting for season seven of the hit HBO series.

IGN kicked off the list with ?Preacher.? It is AMC?s new dark comedy that is adapted from the graphic novel of Garth Ennis and Steve Dillon by the team of Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg and Sam Catlin. The show?s first 5 episodes started things off to good reviews that it has already been confirmed for a second season.

The review also pointed out how sci-fi drama ?Battlestar Galactica? seemingly has the same DNA as ?Game of Thrones.? The three-hour Ron Moore miniseries features the last remaining humans trying on a search for a new planet after surviving a Cylon attack ? somewhat drawing similarities to the quest for the Iron Throne in ?Game of Thrones.?

The attention-grabbing hook of ?Lost? could also satisfy ?Game of Thrones? fans during the latter?s season hiatus. The intertwined stories of the survivors of a plane crash was effectively communicated with the well-conceived portrayals of its characters, whose history were retold in flashbacks. The review even pointed out that ?Lost? somewhat paved the way for ?Game of Thrones? and other similar shows to succeed.

In terms of visual comparisons, History Channel?s ?Vikings? is the most similar to ?Game of Thrones.? Currently on its fourth season, the show?s strong historical basis, battle sequences and crazy politics are somewhat similar to the globally successful HBO drama.

Those who want to make the most of their HBO subscription can go through channel archives for ?Rome.? The story behind Rome?s transition into a massive empire is narrated on this series, which the review says is as epic and expensive as ?Game of Thrones.?

People can also binge-watch old episodes of ?The Sopranos,? since ?Game of Thrones? has been referenced as a version of the series – but in a fantasy world. With both having interesting, complex families with questionable moral codes, ?The Sopranos? is another successful HBO show to keep viewers busy while waiting for ?Game of Thrones? season seven to be back on air in 2017.
