Game of Thrones Prequel: HBO Confirms Preliminary Talks With George R.R Martin

Viewers are now left with only two seasons of Game of Thrones. And, just in case you?re now thinking that you don?t know what to do with your life anymore after the series ends, be comforted with the fact that HBO seems to be planning a Game of Thrones prequel series.

HBO teased fans saying they are in ?preliminary talks? with Game Of Thrones creator George R.R Martin. This is in relation to making a prequel of the beloved series.

The network?s programming president Casey Bloys recently revealed that they are exploring some areas in Westeros’ sprawling history. Bloys said a Game of Thrones spin-off is very much a possibility.

Bloys also hinted that there may be more than the reported six episodes in the final series, according to Yahoo. He said, ?I?ll take as much as we can get.?

Meanwhile, Game of Thrones cast members Emilia Clarke and Peter Dinklage, among others, were spotted in the Basque Country a few weeks ago. The filming for the last season of GoT is expected to wrap up in February 2017.

The seventh season of Game Of Thrones is slated for release in 2017, following the sixth installment, which came out earlier this year. The final installment of the hit series will be released in 2018.

It is expected to be a heartbreaking moment for several viewers that have tuned in to the show from the very start. But at least, a GoT prequel gives fans something to be excited about after the series ends in 2018.

Game Of Thrones airs on Sky Atlantic in the U.K. Since it hit the small screens in 2011, the show has obtained several awards, which include nearly 40 Emmys.

As for what fans should expect in the upcoming season, Maisie Williams told Thrones fans that ?nothing will prepare? them for series seven. Williams plays Arya Stark in the hit series.
