Game of Throne?s Maisie Williams believes the decisions to end the show, saying: ?It?s time to wrap this up? Game of Thrones is a phenomenal TV series. The smash hit has been a cultural sensation ever since its first season.
But sadly, all great things have to come to an end. And what?s unsettling fans all around the world is the fact that we all know that Game of Thrones only has 2 seasons left.
What?s making the two last season?s even more controversial is that these seasons will have less episodes compared to the usual 10 per season. We?re already getting just two seasons left, and now they want to axe the number of episodes per season as well? ?It?s no surprise why so many fans are outraged.
While fans around the world are taking the news differently from one another, Maisie Williams who plays Arya on the show is taking the end quite positively. Williams agrees that Game of Thrones? time is up, saying: ?It?s time to wrap this up.? Variety interviewed Maisie Williams and was able to get her perspective with the show ending.
William?s Feelings towards the End
Williams shares that she supports the decisions for the shorter episodes and the last two seasons. Game of Thrones is a very lucrative franchise and it is very possible to increase the number of episodes and seasons for the fans. But doing that would just milk the series for money while the story slowly suffers.
Williams says: ?Good things must come to an end or they?re not good anymore. It doesn?t last forever and we?ve done what we came to do, it?s time to wrap this up, and it will have the ending it was always supposed to have, and that?s very special.?
Season Seven of Game of Thrones is set to have just seven episodes. The eighth and final season of the franchise if going to have a mere six episodes.
Game of Thrones will be returning sometime during the summer of 2017. The main reason for this is because winter has finally reached Westeros in the last season. The crew needed to adjust filming schedules in order to best achieve the weather of the show.
