Ahead of the April debut of The Game of Thrones Season 6, HBO released another trailer, the latest for the upcoming season showing more violence, sex and battles, which is most likely nothing short of what the viewers are expecting.
The trailer moves from morose to intense, showing the fate of all the characters in matters of seconds, from a dead Jon Snow to Jamie and Cersei, to the Boltons, to Sir Davos and Melisandre, to Daenerys wandering with the Dothraki and to Sansa Stark.
It then moves to a more action packed sequence of battles and sex wherein archers are drawing their bows, people are drawing their swords with steamy scenes of Melisandre getting all seductive and some girls making out. It seems that the Game of Thrones has stayed true to its usual violence and sex despite the controversies over its depiction of such scenes.
There seems to be more steamy scenes than before and of course the frontrunners are Jamie and Cersei with their incestuous romance. ?We?re the only ones that matter,? a lusty looking Jaime proclaims to Cersei in the trailer. ?Everything they?ve taken from us we?re going to take back and more.? They are then seen making out with Cersei kissing Jamie. It seems the death of their daughter, Myrcella, have brought them even closer.
Also, Melisandre is seen removing her clothes and she seems to be trying to seduce Sir Davos with whom she has apparently gotten close. ?The great victory I saw in the flames,? Melisandre tells Davos, ?all of it was a lie.?
She looks like she defeated someone whose faith has been crushed and so she ends up seducing and encouraging him to be a new leader. He is later seen at the end of the trailer getting ready for a war and fighting off several men.
Sir Davos is also wielding Jon?s sword, Longclaw, given to him by the Old Bear, Lord Mormont. ?I?ve never been much of a fighter,? he says to the men. ?Apologies for what you?re about to see.?
Other than that, as usual we see some girls making out, but as to who they are is unclear.
Earlier, the Season 5 controversial rape scene of Sansa Stark had garnered a lot of criticism and producers had said that they would tone down the sexual violence and nudity of the hugely popular series.
Fox Studios Australia, director Jeremy Podeswa, who directed the graphic episode ?Unbowed, Unbent, Unbroken?, which featured Sansa Stark?s horrifying wedding night, said ?a couple of things had changed,? in light of the response from viewers. So we?re mighty curious on how they will address future sex scenes of Season 6.
Podeswa told Telegraph that the show creators will tone things down in response to the criticism. ?It is important that (the producers) not self-censor. The show depicts a brutal world where horrible things happen.?
?They did not want to be too overly influenced by that (criticism) but they did absorb and take it in and it did influence them in a way.?
The director added, ?[The show creators] were responsive to the discussion and there were a couple of things that changed as a result.?
Well, it seems HBO isn?t likely doing that.
Returning with cast members Peter Dinklage, Lena Headey, Emilia Clarke, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, Alfie Allen, Diana Rigg, Natalie Dormer, Sophie Turner, Maisie Williams, John Bradley, Isaac Hempstead Wright, Conleth Hill, Jonathan Pryce and Gwendoline Christie, Game of Thrones Season 6 debuts on April 24.
