New-York Comic Con 2015 (NYCC 2015) opened its door for everyone on Thursday at Manhattan?s Javitz Center and has brought new and exciting news for us to some of our favorite comics to our best-love TV shows. But one thing?s for certain, Comic Con can?t be complete without any Game of Thrones spoilers. So here are some juicy rumors picked up during the NYCC 2015.
The enemy of my enemy is my friend?
Game of Thrones star Natalie Dormer teased about her character Margaery Tyrell for the upcoming season and had a chance to slip some hints about the future of some of the characters during the NYCC event. According to IGN, Dormer was asked what kind of threat Margaery could pose to Lena Headey?s character Cersei.
?What a massive compliment that you think she?s a threat!? Dormer exclaimed. ?I love working with Lena so much. Because Margaery is trying to be Cersei. She wants to be the mother of the king. I mean, she wants to have a child with him who winds up on the Iron Throne. And Cersei knows that. So it?s like the Cold War ? mutually assured destruction. But it got really interesting last season and they?ve got new problems. So who knows? the enemy of my enemy is my friend, maybe??
Does that mean Margaery and Cersei will team up next season? Unfortunately, Dormer didn?t add any more details but we?re glad she could give us the tiniest of details for us to ponder on.
Red Priestess casting
Reports also suggest that British actress Melanie Liburd has been cast as a Red Priestess in the next season of Game of Thrones. The up-and-coming actress has appeared in shows such as ?The Grinder,? ?Strike Back,? ?Dracula,? and ?CSI: Crime Scene Investigation,? shared by Deadline.
This new casting of the Red Priestess would mean a new leap forward for the character, making a somewhat reincarnation. And one could only speculate that she may have a key in bringing a certain favorite character that we would certainly like to come back.
Game of Thrones season 6 is expected to return in Spring of 2016.
