For months now, people have been contemplating on whether or not John Snow will be making a comeback in the Season 6 of Game of Thrones and it seems we finally have an answer: He returns!
According to the website of Harper?s Bazaar, Kit Harrington, who plays John Snow, accidentally spilled his return to the series during an interview with a Dutch Magazine.
Here?s an excerpt of the interview with Watchers on the Wall, which was shared over on Reddit:
Harington:?I had to pass on amazing parts because I was attached to Game of Thrones. So the show is like a double-egded sword to me: I owe a lot to it, but?at the same time it has almost completely drained me. Oh well, I try not to think about it too much. The important thing is that I now know exactly how long I am still under contract, and in the meantime ?
Interviewer: How many more seasons would that be?
Harington:??Nice try (laughs). I can’t talk about that. Let’s just say that Game of Thrones will remain a part of my life for a while, I’ll probably be in my thirties when it’s over. One thing’s for sure: the day I’m no longer on Thrones is the day I’ll bury myself in movie projects (laughs).
Since Harington turns 29 in December, this means he’s pretty much confirmed at least through Season 8?though knowing Harington, he could just be messing with the HBO show’s vast fan?base.
Game Of Thrones Season 6 Cast Rumors: John Snow Lives
Citing reports released by IBTimes UK a few weeks back, there are actual sightings of the Pompeii actor being in the same place as the cast of GOT said to be filming Season 6 already.
Harington, was spotted in Belfast, where the rest of the Game Of Thrones cast have arrived in preparation for season six.
Since the start of the month, fans have already been reporting through social media exciting details that the actor, is in the Northern Irish capital, the latest of which is last July 20.
One fan related that he bumped into Harington and his group, and that the actor actually shook his hand but said he?s not allowed to have his photo taken ? adding mystique to the whole Jon Snow mystery.
And as if to confirm the location, co-stars Emilia Clarke (Daenerys Targaryen) and Nathalie Emmanuel (Missandei), posted an instagram photo with the caption ?Well look who I ran into at a certain airport ready for a certain read through..?! @nathalieemmanuel #seasonsixiscoming #buckleupkids #dragongliding,? and there was ?Belfast? in the background.
One theory suggests that Stannis Baratheon’s mistress Melisandre, who was seen returning to The Wall moments before Snow was stabbed, will use her powers to bring him back to life.
Addressing the speculation, Carice van Houten who plays the Red Priestess, told reporters at Comic-Con in San Diego: “No, he can’t be dead. No! I’ve seen that on the internet; like I’ve seen stuff saying ‘we’ll forgive you if you save him’.”
The famous HBO TV series is expected to return for Season 6 in Spring of 2016.
