Everybody thought we would not get the Frank Ocean new album this month. The last date on the Frank Ocean due date card said it was November. Now, that one did not really matter. There was likely no big plan or conspiracy. It was just probably held up because of last minute artistic calls and changes–just an artist trying to release the best work possible.
Fans and media alike believed that the Frank Ocean new album, his sophomore release, would be called Boys Don?t Cry. Most were caught with their hands down when Frank Ocean announced his new album to be called Blond. The album has been hyped up for so long and fans have been anticipating that they pushed Channel Orange, Mr. Ocean?s debut album, back to the Billboard Charts after three years. This was pointed out by The Verge.
Blond is a 17-track album that is worth the wait. It also weighs a lot in the star power metric as ?contributors for the album include Rick Rubin, Beyonce, James Blake, Pharrell, Kanye West, Jamie xx, Tyler the Creator and even Andre 3000 of Outkast fame.
The album a little over an hour long and is exclusively available on Apple Music and iTunes for two full weeks. The release came just right after Endless, Frank Ocean?s visual album.
The cities of Chicago, London, New York and Los Angeles were graced by Frank Ocean?s pop-up shops making his Blond album accompanied by his Boys Don?t Cry publication (so that?s what that name was for) available. According to Rolling Stones, fans who visited the pop-up shops were given a copy of Boys Don?t Cry with a CD copy of Blond.
