By on

After teasing fans for a couple of years, Frank Ocean is finally going to release his next album titled Boys Don?t Cry later this week. As we move near each day to the expected release date, here are the other key details you have to know about the launch.

According to a recent report by the New York Times, Ocean?s next project is going to hit the market on Friday, August 5. If that would be precise, it would be months earlier than what was previously teased, which was a November 13 release date. However, the time of its release is still unknown because the singer still has not confirmed the rumored launch this week.

Furthermore, the upcoming album of the singer-songwriter is said to be exclusive on Apple Music for about two weeks. After the given time, which is probably the last week of August, it should be available on other music downloading/streaming sites such as Tidal and Spotify. The project is going to be the next high-profile album that secured an exclusive deal with the streaming service of Apple following the albums of Drake, Future, Chance the Rapper and The 1975.

If ever Frank Ocean would really release his Boys Don?t Cry album this Friday, it is expected to be launched with a major video and a printed publication that has a title similar to the album and will be distributed through Apple Stores as well. Also, the launch is reported to be live on the singer?s official website, Boysdontcry.co, as well as on Apple music.

Now, speaking of the album, there are several collaborators expected to be in the project. Reports suggest that some of the artists included are Rodney ?Darkchild? Jerkins, Happy Perez, Charlie Gambetta and Kevin Ristro. Nas also collaborated with Ocean in a song titled ?No Such Thing as White Jesus,? but according to the producer of the track, Hit Boy, the hard drive containing it was stolen.

The upcoming album of Ocean will follow his 2012 project Channel Orange. It was nominated for six Grammys and won Best Urban Contemporary Album. That fact alone is the main reason why his next album is very much anticipated by the fans. Do you think Frank Ocean?s Boys Don?t Cry would really be released on August 5?
