Frank Ocean Album Launch Cancelled? Producer Shares Reason For Delay

By on

The release of the Frank Ocean album Boys Don?t Cry has been delayed ?several times for unknown reasons. As a result, fans of the rapper became impatient but in a recent statement from the project?s producer, he somehow shed some light on the reason behind the repeated hold up.

Malay Ho, the producer of the album, recently answered a fan?s question in a Reddit discussion about the delay. He mentioned that ?art cannot be rushed,? which is obviously asking for more patience from the supporters. He added, ?It?s about making sure the perfect aesthetic for the situation has been reached, to do that takes constant tweaking, trial and error. That goes for any creative [situation].?

Based on Ho?s statement, it seems like the album?s launch is still going to be far from today. But, there is a recent claim that it will be released within this week. According to The Telegraph, a representative from Apple Music revealed that the project is going to hit the market in three (3) days. Although it did not come from the artist himself, still, it is something to look out for.

Furthermore, it was announced by the New York Times earlier this month that the album is going to be exclusively released on Apple Music and it will run for about two weeks before becoming available in other streaming sites like Tidal and Spotify. The project is also expected to come with a major video in it and a printed publication which will be distributed in Apple Stores as well.

Meanwhile, speaking of the Frank Ocean album, a photo was leaked earlier this week showing the soundtracks included in the album. It also revealed that artists like Lorde, Kendrick Lamar, Chance the Rapper and Andre Three-Fucking-Thousand will be collaborators in the album.

If ever the Frank Ocean album will not be launched this week, another speculation is that it will be released on November 13, 2016. Do you think the album will finally become available in three days? Or, will it be launched three months from now? Share your thoughts in the comment section below.
