Finally, after almost two years since the first Forza Horizon came out, the second game with the same name will be making its way to the Xbox One and Xbox 360 this fall as it turns out that the earlier rumors about the game was true after all. Microsoft finally decided to unveil their next racing game.
The racing game Forza Horizon 2 will follow the popular spinoff for the Xbox 360 and Forza Motorsport 5, which was supposedly released along with the launch of Xbox One in 2013. The same guys who were behind the original Horizon will be the same people who will take care of the game?s development, which is Playground Games. Some of the Motorsport team (Turn 10) will also lend a hand to them, as they share almost the same game mechanics, and also to materialize their visions for the next big game.
?[Turn 10 and Playground] share this belief that we can create a true home for racing fans on Xbox One,? says Ralph Fulton, Horizon 2?s creative director.
As with its predecessor, Forza Horizon 2 will showcase hundreds of cars. Playground Games state this and it was actually headlined by the 2015 Lamborghini Huracan. Surprisingly, the weather system will also be introduced in Forza Horizon 2, along with the Drivatar which is going to be adapted from Forza 5.
The game?s setting will take place in Southern Europe, which will let the game showcase its great visuals and ?incredible diversity? and ?amazing vistas.? According to Fulton?s words. Music will take a big part in the game?s overall atmosphere. The game’s “story” will revolve around a Music Festival, and it will be the focus in most of the game’s activities.
Aside from Forza Horizon 2, Microsoft has a lot of games and surprises for us in the upcoming E3 event, like Halo 2 Anniversary Edition, Halo 5, Crackdown 3 and various Fable games. Be sure to check out their E3 presence with various streaming sites like gamespot (twitch).
