In the meantime, for the fans of Food Wars!: Shokugeki No Soma anime, here are some recipes that we recommend you try out at home to satisfy your Shokugeki craving!
- Gotcha Pork Roast Recipe ? This was the dish that got the appetite of fans going in the first episode of season one. The dish simulates a pork roast dish without the use of pork loin. Comprised mainly of mashed potatoes, onions and mushrooms ? this is all wrapped in layers of bacon and then covered in a sauce made from red wine, soy sauce and sake. According to Soma, the bacon juices will be absorbed by the potatoes when baked thus giving the illusion that you?re eating pork when you?re only eating mashed potatoes. Our friends from The Ani-Tay Kitchen recreated this dish. See it here.
- Yukihara Style Chaliapin Don ? this dish first appeared on Souma?s first shokugeki against Ikumi Mito. The episode showed Soma making this dish with cheap ingredients found in a supermarket. He was able to pull this off by focusing on both innovation and balance of the ingredients to fulfill the donburi mantra: ?Dons are completed in one bowl.? See the recipe here.
This cooking manga turned anime series, has brought cooking to a whole new level. ?Author Yuto Tsukuda has collaborated with Yuki Morisaki for the mouth-watering recipes featured on the storyline.
