Scott Cawthon has confirmed that Five Nights at Freddy?s Sister Location Custom Night cutscenes are canon. The last Golden Freddy Mode cutscene revealed that the main character, Mike, could actually be Springtrap and not the Purple Guy. Here?s what we know so far.
Mike = Springtrap?
As seen on epicsurfingvids? video, the Five Nights at Freddy?s Sister Location Custom Night Golden Freddy cutscene shows a video about ?Michael.? In the cutscene, Michael talks about the animatronics mistaking him for his ?father.? Additionally, he considers to do his mission of freeing his sister while Ennard escapes the facility. Lastly, Michael claims that there is nothing else left for him to do, and Springtrap shows up as his voice turns more Robotic. Easily, ?Mike? could be a nickname for ?Michael? and he was the player character all along.
Two Purple Guys?
Potentially, there could be two Purple Guys as revealed in the Five Nights at Freddy?s Sister Location Custom Night cutscenes. In Cawthon?s post on Steam Discussions, he confirmed that the Sister Location Custom Night cutscenes are canon. The first Purple Guy could be William Afton when he was experimenting and murdering children for his own causes. As seen on GageTheGamer?s video, ?Mike? became a living animatronic after Ennard used his skin to escape the facility. Though his organs were scooped out, ?Mike? apparently survived the plan but is now also an animatronic like Ennard. The escaped animatronic could have shared his animatronic life with ?Mike? to let him live. If there are two Purple Guys, it?ll be difficult to pin the blame on William Afton or ?Mike?, which extends the FNaF lore.
Innocent Purple Guy?
If Mike really became Springtrap, it?s possible that William Afton could be innocent from Springtrap?s actions. However, Afton still experimented on those children in an attempt to revive his daughter in any form. Additionally, Springtrap doesn?t canonically kill the main characters in Five Nights at Freddy?s 3, but he did have a murderous intent. All in all, the Five Nights at Freddy?s Sister Location Custom Night DLC cutscenes could only explain a new angle in processing the full story of the game.
