Five Nights at Freddy’s creator Scott Cawthon has revealed some information about the upcoming movie. His usually empty official Twitter has showed a picture of a director’s seat and Blumhouse Productions hinting progress of the movie’s development. Blumhouse Productions is known for producing Paranormal Activity, Get Out, and The Purge which confirms quality for the upcoming Five Nights at Freddy’s movie.
Cawthon’s Twitter Post
As seen on Cawthon’s official Twitter, a “Freddy’s” foldable canvas seat and the Blumhouse Productions logo can be seen in one frame. The frame doesn’t have any official press release details but this picture could confirm that Blumhouse Productions is now working with Scott Cawthon to make the Five Nights at Freddy’s movie. However, we’ll have to wait for more updates from Cawthon and Blumhouse Productions for their movie plans and other production details.
Notably, the movie has been noted to have a troubled production that even Cawthon himself didn’t know the development progress. Cawthon has previously announced that the movie’s production has been rebooted but now they’ll be surer of its progress. Currently, Cawthon has yet to announce if the movie has retained any of its previous staff like its director, Gil Kenan, and its writer, Tyler Burton-Smith.
Blumhouse Productions Reputation
Recently, Blumhouse Productions has been successful with its horror movies like M. Night Shyamalan’s Split and Jordan Peele’s Get Out. Additionally, the company has been noted to release films that rarely spend over $10 million dollars to produce. Potentially, the Five Nights at Freddy’s movie may have a similar budget but will still be effective in its scare factor.
No Further Details
Aside from the tweet, Cawthon has yet to speak thoroughly about their connection to the Five Nights at Freddy’s movie production. Currently, the fans are still clueless about the film’s details. Fans can only wait as the movie has barely any recent production information out for awhile now.
Due to being originally a video game, the Five Nights at Freddy’s to become an animated film. However, Blumhouse Productions reputation as a low-budget company may potentially deprive Cawthon to produce a movie with good animation quality. If budget is considered, the Five Nights at Freddy’s movie may turn out to be a live-action film with realistic animatronics instead.
We’ve yet to see if the movie will borrow characters from the novel series as the main games had few interacting characters. So far, Phone Guy talking to the main character and the animatronics trying to kill the main character are the most interactions that happen in the series. Lastly, the main character barely moves in his position and just limited to checking cameras and pressing buttons for his survival. It’ll be interesting to see how Cawthon and Blumhouse Productions provides a good movie story about a game that barely has characters and interaction.
