Five Nights at Freddy’s creator Scott Cawthon confused many of his fans when he said “Would I ever troll you guys?” in his recent announcement. In his past projects, many fans were bamboozled when he released games earlier than expected and surprised fans with new updates. Cawthon’s major announcement was about his current video game project, “Five Nights at Freddy’s 6”.
As seen on the Five Nights at Freddy’s Sister Location Steam Discussion, Cawthon announced that he’ll be taking a break on working on his current game project. The series creator affirms that he needs time to rest to spend time with his family and rest to recover his drive to finish the project. However, Cawthon only discussed the Five Nights at Freddy’s 6 project just now. Cawthon affirms that he isn’t joking around about this project but fans seem to be keeping their guard up for surprises.
As seen on the Five Nights at Freddy’s subreddit, many fans are skeptical of Cawthon’s announcement. Previously, Cawthon released the Five Nights at Freddy’s World spinoff and a few of the main entries earlier than expected. Cawthon’s teasers for the upcoming Five Nights at Freddy’s projects have always been gimmicky as he leaves clues and other trickery in his promotional materials. In a way, it’s hard to believe Cawthon’s words due to his history but fans don’t have a choice but to wait for his content releases.
Other than Five Nights at Freddy’s 6, Cawthon affirms that his Five Nights at Freddy’s movie project is going well with Blumhouse Productions. He’s also planning to make a Five Nights at Freddy’s VR game because it’s “awesome.” Cawthon promises to update us on his projects soon. Fans will have to stay vigilant for new announcements and clues placed somewhere on his Cawthon’s two official sites. Stay updated with more Five Nights at Freddy’s news here on The BitBag.
