Final Fantasy XV

In line with the new Final Fantasy XV game, Square Enix is releasing an animated movie, set in the same universe of the game called Kingsglaive: Final Fantasy XV. ?This animated movie is said to be a must-watch before you play the game or if you are a fan of the whole FF franchise.

IGN reported that Kingsglaive: Final Fantasy XV animated movie will feature stories of characters in the game. The movie will be voiced by Game of Thrones actors Sean Bean (as King Regis) and Lena Headey (as Princess Luna). They are joined by Breaking Bad?s Aaron Paul as Kingsglaive soldier, Nyx for the English dubbed version. How cool is this?

Amazing right? Let?s not forget that back in 2001, Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within became the best animated movie of the year (for most Final Fantasy fans, of course). See the trailer here in case you?re in the mood for some nostalgia:

It can be said that Kingsglaive: Final Fantasy XV has definitely a better quality and better animation than Spirits Within, after all it has been about 15 years right? Although there seems to be a much louder buzz for the game than the movie among Final Fantasy fans. This is because Square Enix also released game character photos of Final Fantasy XV to IGN.

Art Director Yusuke Naora tells IGN, ?When the project became Final Fantasy XV and shifted to the new generation hardware, we re-examined the level of reality that would be portrayed in the game world. The photorealistic quality of the graphics made the fantasy world feel like an extension of the real world, and we focused on scale and texture to add presence and bring the world to life for our audience.?

While there is still the matter of the month-long wait before the release of Final Fantasy XV on September 30, the movie premiered in Japan last July and will be shown in selected theaters in the US on August 19. Digital copy of Kingsglaive: Final Fantasy XV will be available by August 30 while the Blu-ray and DVD versions will be available by October 30.
