Square Enix teased gamers last year during the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) about the Final Fantasy VII (FF7) remake. A year after since it was first announced, it is still not clear when it will be released, and based on a recent statement by the game producer, it is not going to happen anytime this year.
In a recent statement released by Yoshinori Kitase, the game producer, he explained why the launch is taking so long as well as confirms the rumor of FF7 being a multi-part game. ?It will essentially be a full-scale game for each part of the multi-part series,? he said. The producer also added that the game?s storyline ?wouldn?t make sense if that isn?t encompassed in a multi-part series.?
Speaking of Final Fantasy VII remake?s storyline, Kitase revealed that there will be some changes to it. He shared that the one who will tweak it are the same persons who created the game more than 10 years ago, so they definitely have the rights to do the changes.
What the gamers want, on the other hand, is the game to be not so different from its predecessor. Also, they want to see the original characters present in the remake. If Square Enix would decide to follow these ideas, then we can expect Cloud Strife appearing once more in the game to team up with Tifa Lockhart and defeat the evil Sephiroth.
Meanwhile, with regards to the release, there are predictions that it is going to happen in 2017, but for the first part only. For the succeeding installments, they are expected to be launched six months or a year after the initial launch. So, for the second part, it is probably going to be available in 2018, and 2019 for the third part, which would complete the multi-part series.
