Final Fantasy 15 Holiday DLC Release Date Announced! Differences Of Free Version And Paid Content Revealed!

By on

After some initial teasing, the upcoming Final Fantasy 15 Holiday DLC has finally been detailed. The holiday-themed piece of DLC will come out on December 22 in Japan, three days before Christmas. There is a free version and a plus version that is only available to season pass owners, with the latter having better content.

Holiday Pack (Free)

Gematsu has confirmed the following items for the free Holiday Pack. It was also stated that some of the content would still be coming in January.

  • Level Stopper
  • Annihilation Victory Song
  • Moogle Chocobo Carnival T-Shirt (Noctis Only), (January Update)
  • Limited Time Carnival Ticket

Holiday Pack Plus (Season Pass Only)

Season pass owners will get some really meaty Final Fantasy 15 DLC from this pack. Aside from the items available in the free Final Fantasy 15 Holiday DLC version, they also have access to the following items:

  • Protection Ring
  • Command Booster (Noctis)
  • Phantom Booster (Noctis)
  • Instant Kill Victory Song
  • Battle Technique Victory Song
  • Fortuitous Key
  • Stamina Anchor (Noctis)
  • Carnival Style Costume (Noctis) (January Update)
  • Holiday-themed Picture Frame (January Update)

January Carnival

While the details on this are pretty slim, there is a January Carnival coming to the game. Both season pass owners and cheap gamers will gain access to tickets for this. It’s not yet clear what will be special in this carnival, but fans can assume that a number of rare items can be obtained. Here is hoping that there are some fun mini-games.

New Game Plus

Fans need not worry, as this will be free for everyone. New Game Plus will be available in the update that adds support for the Holiday Packs. Those that have beaten the game can now replay it with the stats they kept from their previous playthrough.

Oddly enough, it’s not clear if the enemies will be tougher in New Game Plus. Normally, that would be the case, but that detail wasn’t mentioned. It’s an odd thing to leave out since fans wouldn’t want to play the game again if it’s too easy. That’s what easy mode is for.

The Final Fantasy 15 Holiday DLC?is one of the many upcoming expansions included in the?US$29.99 season pass. The main game is available now on PS4 and Xbox One.
