The second half of Fear the Walking Dead Season 2 just came back, and the new episode?s title ?Grotesque? could not have been more appropriate. Episode 8 solely focused on Nick?s struggle to survive. He had to endure and resort to grotesque things to do so, including drinking his own pee and eating the flesh of dogs attacked by walkers.
Nick’s Grotesque Journey
Episode 8 is the first character-centric episode of the show. The new episode clearly showed that the violence in Fear the Walking Dead Season 2 has further intensified. The show picked up from where?Season 2 left off. Nick woke up as Sofia was entering the house where he?s staying. Sofia gave him enough supplies for his journey to Tijuana, as he is bent on finding a community that ?embraces the dead.?
The journey was not easy for Nick as he had to escape death several times. He encountered a group of bad men who almost shot him to death. He also ended up in a desert where he suffered dehydration and got bitten by a dog. Nick also?had to resort to drinking his own urine to survive. He also had to?eat the remains of the dog that bit him, The Hollywood Reporter stated.
Life After the Apocalypse
Fortunately for him though, a woman and two men rescued him and brought him to a medical center. There he discovered that there is a small community that thrives without walkers. The question though is, where is his family?
Viewers have yet to see if the rest of his family survived as well. However, in one of the flashbacks of episode 8, it was revealed that Nick?s father died in a car crash.
Is the newly discovered community what Nick desperately needs? What happened to the other cast members? Fans will find out next in episode 9 of Fear the Walking Dead Season 2, which will air on Aug. 28 at 9 pm on AMC.
