Gamers were caught off-guard when Ubisoft released the Far Cry Primal Gameplay video which showed a pre-historic focus, meaning guns have been scrapped in favor of wooden bows and spears. Here are some Far Cry Primal gameplay features and details you might have missed.
10,000 BC Animals
Encountering animals is now a more frantic experience as you no longer have guns to defend yourself. Worse, you?ll fight against bigger and more fearsome animals than past installments because the game is set in the Mesolithic era in 10,000 B.C. Here are all the enemies you might encounter according to Design & Trend:
- Saber-Tooth Tigers
- Large Owls
Bigger and more fearsome enemies aren?t your only problems in the game as you?ll also have to fight against other folks in the wilderness. Worse, your character named Takkar isn?t a lone wolf as he must ensure the safety of his tribe. ?Takkar will need to guard his fledgling group carefully to ensure its survival and growth,? Ubisoft wrote.
As there is no technology and electricity yet in the pre-historic times, you?ll also fight against nature itself especially as there are day and night cycles in the game. Take note that you?ll be traversing various locales such as swamps, forests, and other areas, Ubisoft said.
?Like every Far Cry before it, Far Cry Primal takes place in a massive open world? and when nightfall comes to Oras, fire may be the only thing standing between Takkar and a particularly sharp set of teeth or the jagged tip of a spear. The use of fire is perhaps just as important, if not more important, than the weapons Takkar crafts.?
How To Identify Enemies
As long as you aren?t color blind and identify the color of your tribe member?s paint, you shouldn?t worry about accidentally killing them. According to Design&Trend, enemies will wear a blue paint while your allies will be covered in orange. This is weird compared to other games where the color blue represents allies while red (a hue close to orange) represents enemies.
Far Cry Primal will be released on February 23, 2016 for the PS4 and Xbox One. The PC version will be released in March, 2016.
