Far Cry 5, Far Cry 3 Sequel Rumors Was A Simple Throwback Post

Far Cry 5

Ubisoft has a lot of franchises under its name and one of the best ones is Far Cry. It’s been 3 years since the last main entry in the series and fans are already aching to get their hands on a new installment of the shooter. However, fans got their hopes up for a Far Cry 5 entry due to Ubisoft’s tease.

Recently, Ubisoft posted a throwback post for Far Cry in its Facebook and Instagram pages. The image is a clear post for Far Cry 3 and it even had the caption “an island we never truly left.” Many believed that Ubisoft is gearing itself for a possible reveal of something related to Far Cry 3 or even Far Cry 5, but that’s not the case.

Game Informer got hold of Ubisoft’s PR and asked what the post was about. Sadly, it was just a mere innocent throwback post from Ubisoft. This might’ve disappointed fans of the series as the last outing, the spin-off titled Far Cry Primal, wasn’t well-received. It was even criticized for recycling the map from Far Cry 4.

When fans saw the post, a few things came to mind. Ubisoft could’ve been readying a release of a remaster, which doesn’t sound too far fetched as Far Cry 3 is one of the best games in the series. Fans also speculated that it was a tease for Far Cry 5 and it would also serve as either a sequel or prequel to Far Cry 3.

If players choose the “good” ending for Jason Brody in Far Cry 3, he stays in Rook Islands. If Far Cry 5 will serve as a sequel to Far Cry 3, then everything is already set up. Fans are also definitely eager for a direct sequel to Far Cry 3 considering the game’s success.

Fans are going to want to see more of the Far Cry series from Ubisoft. Since the last outing wasn’t that good, Ubisoft should give their all in the next game. It’s been a long time since Far Cry 4 so a new entry could be waiting around the corner. Fans can expect an amazing open-world setting, a memorable villain, and some insane action sequences once Far Cry 5 gets revealed. For now, it looks like all we’re getting from the developer is a throwback post.
