The embargo for Fallout 4 reviews has already been lifted and a majority of the critics highly praised again Bethesda?s post apocalyptic RPG. Despite the critics? high scores and remarks about the game, there were also a lot of negative comments. Here are some of the critics? Fallout 4 review to help you decide whether you should purchase the game or if you?re just looking forward on what to expect before owning it.

Fallout 4 Review Roundup: IGN

IGN praised the game?s atmosphere, likening the game?s vastness to Elder Scrolls 5 Skyrim. There are also a lot of things to find and do inside the game, they said. They were also impressed with the improved gunplay as they deemed it to provide a decent FPS experience. They noted that the V.A.T.S system, an ability to slow down time and target specific body parts, still feels satisfying to use and players will likely still use it a lot.

They were a bit disappointed, however, with the slow introduction sequence of the game and the main story itself doesn?t feel as great as the ?well-written side quests?, they said. There were also occasional crashes and bugs on all platforms of the game. But they said that these cons doesn?t take away from the thrilling experiencing of simply exploring the game. IGN game the game a 9.5 out of 10.

GameSpot

GameSpot?s review was also filled with praise for the game, particularly with the impact of player decisions others and the ?cinematic flair? of the V.A.T.S system. They also enjoyed the main story of the game.

While there is a fast-travel functionality to help you go to areas you?ve already been to, GameSpot found it difficult to navigate areas in the game. They said it is difficult to survey the map because of the limited world map functionality. Judging the distance of each location you?re going to is a chore as players need to scroll slowly through the map just to get a whole bird?s eye view of the area.

Other cons cited include the game?s inventory and choosing a weapon loadout; basic animations and plainly framed scenes; and other occasional glitches present in Bethesda?s games. However, GameSpot said that ?Fallout 4?s minor issues pale in comparison to its successes.? They gave the game a 9 out of 10.

Polygon

Polygon said that the post-apocalyptic game from Bethesda offers a lot of things for players to do. They were ok with the game?s main story, but like with IGN, they deemed that the joy of simply exploring the world feels more satisfying than the main story. And exploring the game?s vast world feels satisfying because of the great gameplay, they said. Polygon gave the game a 9.5 out of 10.
