While we wait for Fallout 4 to arrive, Bethesda is releasing an unusual board game for the fans.
And the funny part about this board game is that it is not an original board game based of the Fallout franchise. The upcoming board game will be a Fallout-themed Monopoly. Yes, it may sound surprising but Monopoly has been doing collaborative works with other gaming franchises such as Legend of Zelda, Warcraft, Street Fighter, Mass Effect and even music icons such as AD/DC and Elvis or TV series like Doctor Who.
The Monopoly Fallout edition was recently announced at the Gamestop Expo with a Twitter feed to support its reveal. The following caption from the Tweet was “When Fallout 4 monopolizes family time, you can always bust this out.” If you are curious on what the game box would look like, one of Shacknews? writers posted the image on his Instagram profile that was shown at the Gamestop Expo, when an Instagram user asked about the expected release date for the Monopoly board game, a representative from USAopoly hinted that it will be available on November and of course, will be a Gamestop exclusive.
No details were revealed like the board game design and if there will be any Fallout-themed game pieces or will they be using bottle caps as currencies for the board game, though it was labeled as Fallout Collector?s Edition, so hopefully there could be some premium item that is included that would be a worth to buy for Fallout fans and even Monopoly collectors.
Bethesda is very aggressive in promoting their upcoming title, with their first lineup being the Fallout Shelter mobile game, which is available for both Android and iOS platforms, there is also the upcoming Fallout Anthology later this September that contains all of the classic Fallout games. If you are curious on what other versions of Monopoly were also available, you can check out the massive list from their Wiki page.
